Barbara Hager and David Springbett both won the KCTS9 pitch contest as the VFF! Congrats to both winners!!!
I cannot stop listening to this track. I came across it a few months ago (yes a little late to the party) and has become part of my daily playlist. What first caught my attention was the music video. It popped up on a music blog I was reading and was pretty much captivated. The quality of this video is amazing, the concept is great and the visual style is inspiring. I’m a huge fan of the color grading in the video. It adds a sort of vintage feel to the entire piece. Mix that with the sci-fi concept and you had me at hello. If you haven’t seen the video or heard this song yet please check this out. Nothing but good things will happen to you.
enjoy.

Victoria Windstorm!
We had a little bit of an epic windstorm on January 22nd (2012). My friend dragged me out of the house and down to the water. So glad she did! It turns out that crazy stormy weather allows for some really nice photos! Enjoy.

Headed to Springboard at VFF!
May Street Productions is sending me to Springboard, the industry event that accompanies the Victoria Film Festival. Looking forward to an industry event in my own city! Its a weekend full of keynotes, panels, workshops, and my favourite, receptions! It’ll be really nice to reconnect with colleagues that I haven’t seen in a while. It seems hard to stay connected with everyone when things get busy.
Definitely looking forward to this!
SXSW 2012 Here I come!
Gumar and His Magical Midi Band – Sliding Down Rainbows (The Great Mundane Remix)
A friend used this in an edit and I couldn’t stop listening to the song. Great remix, great song, perfect for summer. This definitely should be making you want to get outside and have some fun!

Kid Cudi - No One Believes Me
Just got a chance to check out this video. One of my favourite music videos out right now! Wouldn’t expect a bad quality video to be put out by Kudi This is very reminiscent of a Thriller, at least to me. The song is sick too! I’m waiting to get my hand on the track but for now the youtube replay button will have to do.
Enjoy

Sublime with Rome – Safe And Sound (Bonus Track)

Well I finally got my hands on the new Sublime with Rome album. I’ve been a huge fan of Sublime since I first got a taste back in 1994. I’m not sure how I feel about Sublime with a new frontman but the style of the album has a great summer feel. The vibe for the most part is dead on. This is far from a traditional Sublime album but we all have to remind ourselves that this isn’t Sublime, it’s Sublime with Rome, new band, new sound, but still draws on alot of the old style. There are a few tracks that stray and try some new things. Overall I’m feeling it for a good summer album. Once summer gets here that is… oh and I still miss Sublime.
I’m going with Safe And Sound as the best track of the album. I’m a fan of the big bass and the female vocals kill it. If you’re wanting a great summer soundtrack then go grab this album! Enjoy.
Nightsurf by Iker Elorrieta
I just checked this video out on vimeo and am blown away. I’ve always been a big fan of speed ramping and an even bigger fan of surfing. Now when you combine the two you seem to get quite a poetic little dance of images. Iker Elorrieta did an absolutely amazing job on this. Make sure to check this out, share it on facebook, tweet it, or whatever you do. It’s too damn pretty to keep to yourself! Enjoy.

Great Light Leaks Effect for FCP
Crumplepop is an effects company is based out of Minneapolis that makes really REALLY cool templates for Final Cut Pro. The price is insanely cheap! ($69US) for 57 various transitions and effects. Well worth the money in my opinion.
I recently got to use the template Lumineux for some intro shots in Carrefour Nunavut promo videos. The templates come in both Prores and H.264 formats and are so easy to use, literally just drag them in and hit the space bar!
Head on over to their website to check out Lumineux as well as their other products. They’re affordable and add huge production value! Click HERE for their website.
